Fire fighting
The fire-fighting training is intended for a ship’s entire crew and teaches them how to respond effectively during a fire and about specific dangers to their own safety.
During the training crew members learn, among other things, which type of fire extinguisher is suitable for different types of fire and they take part in practical fire-fighting drills.
1 half-day (4 hours), including the completion of an e-learning module prior to the on-board training
The fire-fighting training is intended for all crew members on board who may have to deal with a fire.
The fire-fighting training contains both a theoretical and a practical part.
Topics covered during the training sessions include:
- Crew member personal safety
- How to act safely in the event of a newly started fire
- Different types of fires
- When the different types of fire extinguishers should be used
The theoretical knowledge learned during the training is put into practice on board the ship through simulated drills.
We have all the training materials required and can use them throughout Europe. These include several training equipment with which we simulate various fire situations that can arise on board.
After successfully completing this training, Op Koers! Maritiem will provide the student with a certificate of participation, valid for 1 year.
